    I am left with a question with respect to the lack of explanation of the pervasive abuses that mortgage appraisers are subjected to.

    Why did the Department of Labor paint such a rosy picture? Sounds something like a Chamber of Commerce description of chronic unemployment.

    Apparently their data is outdated. The most recent income levels for appraisers are based on 2006 and only 10% of appraisers made less than $20K that year. My guess is that percentage will rise for 2007 & 2008.
