Brian J. Rogers is the Chief Executive Officer at Miller Samuel, a Manhattan-based real estate appraisal and consulting firm. He oversees the firm’s appraisal practice in close coordination with the firm’s Chief Appraiser, Sharon Raizer, and is a State Certified Real Estate Appraiser in New York and Connecticut.
A graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, Brian worked as a business analyst for two different Fortune 500 companies over a period of six years before joining Miller Samuel in 2005. He worked as a staff appraiser with increasing responsibilities until 2020 when he formally joined the firm’s leadership team.
Brian has vast experience in New York City real estate valuations, most notably in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and The Bronx. He also regularly appraises in Westchester, Nassau, Suffolk, Dutchess, Putnam, Ulster, Greene and Delaware Counties in New York, and Fairfield and Litchfield Counties in Connecticut. His work includes a wide range of valuation and consulting assignments concerning mortgage origination, asset valuation, and trust and estate matters, with a specialty in litigation and matrimonial/divorce work, as well as common space valuations.
Brian has been admitted as an expert witness in United States District Court, Southern District of New York, Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York, Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of Kings, Ansonia/Milford District Superior Court, Connecticut, the Court of Common Pleas of the 43rd Judicial District, Monroe County, Pennsylvania and the American Arbitration Association. He is known for his extensive experience as a “neutral” appraiser in matrimonial matters, where he or his firm is recommended by the court or hired to perform appraisals for both parties. Brian has also been deposed in Chicago, Illinois as an expert witness in real estate appraisal, representing the Federal Deposit Insurance Company (FDIC) in a national litigation case.
